Space In Between present INTER-ALTER
Space In Between present an exhibition of work by contemporary artists and designers - exploring the boundaries between the two practices - as part of London Design Festival 2010.
With a current trend and aesthetic in art to exploit function - to make objects, machines, experiences and work which involves the viewers’ physical participation, there is a blurring of the accepted boundaries between fine art and real design and a hybridisation of the two. And with designers making objects - not necessarily products - that provide little or no function, they are creating work that is traditionally closer to a work of ‘art’.
This exhibition aims to shine a spotlight on these developments and on an exciting group of designers and artists whose work explores and demonstrates new ways of making.
