Felicities PR press event at Hoxton Factory

On Tuesday evening Fox&Squirrel were invited to Felicities Press event at the newly refurbished Hoxton Factory. We got there early to avoid the queue,to get up close and personal with all the garments, and to squeeze someinfo out of some of the designers. We also got to chat with the ever socharming Alison of Felicities PR who explained to us that the agencyprovides business support for all its designers besides PR services. Upon enteringthe venue we were greeted by a Shea Butter manicure stand; tempting as this was we decided against it. We knew wewould be going through racks of clothes and smudgy manicure isdefinitely tasteless.

First designer we scouted was Jakob Kimmie, currently in his 6th season. Jakob tells us that the woman he envisions is ostentatious but spiritual. He elaborates by telling us that he considers these to be states of mind and therefore his clothes need to adapt to fluctuating moods. At times these may be at polar opposites and indeed the piece we adored expressed this by drawing inspiration from Classic and Gothic styles.

Following on was Scottish belle, Alice Palmer. Her AW 10/11 is a personal take on Batman. The "I want, I want now!" piece was definitely her studded leggings, though her knitwear obvioulsy was not far off that either. Apparently there is a sample sale this Saturday on Portobello Rd that will include some of her creations; date is in the diary! Fox& Squirrel managed to secure an exclusive interview with her. This is coming up shortly.

We spotted some amazing clutch bags by Heidi Mottram made out of eel skin!So soft, beautiful and available in a greatrange of colours. Wear these bags with exquisite jewellery by Imogen Belfield, another young designer represented by Felicities, and you've achieved agreat summer look. Plus, her chunky gold rings were admired by everyonepresent at the event.

Besides scouting out for new labelsthe event offered a great opportunity to people watch. We loved Emma JCrosby's head piece. If she couldonly let us know where she got hold of it? Needless to say Jojo drooledover these Louboutin shoes and at that point it was time to go!
